LinkedIn - Beta
LinkedIn is the channel sales teams use for everything they don’t want CC’d to compliance. Comma is rolling out LinkedIn capture in Beta: the OAuth flow and ingestion pipeline are live, polish and breadth are still landing.
What Comma captures (beta)
Section titled “What Comma captures (beta)”- Direct messages - 1:1 and group threads, attachments, read receipts
- InMail - paid messages to people outside your network
- Connection activity - invitations sent and received, accepted/declined
- Business page interactions - posts, comments, and messages tied to a company page where the connecting account is an admin
- LinkedIn Sales Navigator - capture is in development as a separate connector; see the LinkedIn Sales Navigator pill on the platform integrations page
How it works
Section titled “How it works”- Connect LinkedIn via OAuth from Integrations > Personal Integrations on the Comma dashboard
- Comma exchanges the auth code for a long-lived access token and stores it encrypted at rest
- A background worker polls LinkedIn’s messaging API on a schedule and ingests new threads
- Edits and deletes are preserved alongside the original
What’s still maturing in beta
Section titled “What’s still maturing in beta”- Coverage gaps - some LinkedIn surfaces (older Recruiter-flavored InMail, certain group types) don’t yet sync; we add them as we close coverage
- Rate limits - LinkedIn’s API quotas are unpredictable and we’re tuning the backoff
- Bulk backfill - we can backfill recent history but very old threads may not be available through LinkedIn’s APIs
If you’re evaluating Comma specifically for LinkedIn coverage, tell us what surfaces you need - it changes our prioritization.
Setup steps
Section titled “Setup steps”- Sign in to the Comma Compliance dashboard
- Open Integrations in the top navigation
- Under Personal Integrations, find the LinkedIn card and click Connect
- You’ll be redirected to LinkedIn to sign in and approve the scopes
- LinkedIn redirects you back to Comma; capture begins
What’s next
Section titled “What’s next”- Available on Request integrations - Salesforce and other CRM-adjacent capture
- Inbound Webhooks - For custom LinkedIn-derived data flows
