Audit preparedness settings

Audit preparedness settings control how review work is scheduled and what coverage every member is expected to have. You reach them from Settings > Audit preparedness. Only admins can change them. Reviewers and auditors can read them. Managers do not have access to Settings.

  1. Open Settings > Audit preparedness.
  2. Go through each card below and save any you change. Each card saves on its own.
  3. If you see the banner Confirm before starting, press Confirm and start.

Review reminders and spot-check sampling do not start until an admin confirms. New teams start automatically.

The banner then reads “Active since” with the date and who confirmed. For a team that started automatically, it says so instead. The confirmation, and every saved change after it, is recorded in the settings change log.

How often a review period opens: Off, Monthly, Weekly, or Daily.

The page suggests Weekly for firms with fewer than 25 billable members and Daily for 25 or more. These are starting points. No rule sets a number, and the choice is your firm’s.

The minimum number of spot checks per policy each month. The default is 3.

Spot checks sample communications a policy did not already select for review. The floor tops up each policy to the minimum each month when enough eligible communications exist, so a small team still produces review evidence.

  • Reviewer role - which role gets review work: Reviewer, Manager, or Admin.
  • Orphaned work goes to - where a departing reviewer’s open work goes.
  • Clearance SLA days - how long reviewers have after a period ends to finish its items. The default is 10.

How often admins are reminded to run a drill: Off, Annual, or Twice a year. The default is Annual.

The outcomes you can record for a departing member’s channels when you offboard them. Keep at least one.

The channels every member must be covered on. Outside auditors are not included. These feed the coverage baseline and the Channel coverage statement.

Mark a channel Firm-managed when your firm captures it centrally, such as email through Google Workspace or Microsoft 365. Firm-managed channels are not listed as member exceptions on the coverage baseline. The Channel coverage statement still shows them for each member.

Until you declare required channels, the channels enabled for your team are used.
