eSIM + WhatsApp Setup
Use this guide if your organization is providing a dedicated business phone number via eSIM. You’ll install the eSIM, create a new WhatsApp account on that number, and connect it to Comma.
Step 1: Install Your eSIM
Section titled “Step 1: Install Your eSIM”You’ll receive a QR code from your admin. Use it to add your business data plan to your phone.
On iPhone
- Open Settings
- Tap Mobile Data
- Tap Add Data Plan
- Scan the eSIM QR code with your camera
On Android
- Open Settings
- Tap Connections
- Tap SIM Card Manager
- Tap Add Mobile Plan
- Scan the eSIM QR code with your camera
Once installed, your phone will show two lines — your personal SIM and your new business line.
Step 2: Set Up WhatsApp on Your Business Number
Section titled “Step 2: Set Up WhatsApp on Your Business Number”- Download WhatsApp from the App Store or Google Play (if not already installed)
- Open WhatsApp and tap Agree and Continue
- When prompted for your phone number, enter your business number (the eSIM line)
- WhatsApp will send a verification code via SMS to that number
- Enter the code to verify
- Set up your name and profile — this is your business WhatsApp account
Step 3: Connect WhatsApp to Comma
Section titled “Step 3: Connect WhatsApp to Comma”- Log in to your Comma dashboard
- Go to Integrations → Personal Integrations
- Click Connect under WhatsApp
- A QR code will appear on screen
- In WhatsApp, go to Settings → Linked Devices → Link a Device
- Scan the Comma QR code
- Done — Comma will begin archiving your business messages automatically
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”WhatsApp shows “Linked Devices limit reached” - WhatsApp allows up to 4 linked devices. Remove an unused linked device to make room for Comma.
