Setting Up Facebook Archiving
Facebook covers Page inbox conversations, Messenger DMs, Timeline posts, Group activity, Events, and Marketplace chats. Comma captures all of it through the standard Facebook OAuth flow.
How Facebook capture works
Section titled “How Facebook capture works”- Messenger - 1:1 chats, group messages, attachments, reactions
- Page inbox - business page conversations with prospects and customers
- Timeline posts - personal and Page posts, threaded comments, link metadata
- Groups - private group messages and shared content where the connected account has access
- Events - event pages, RSVPs, attendee changes
- Marketplace - buyer/seller chat for business accounts
- Live videos and Stories with original metadata
Prerequisites
Section titled “Prerequisites”- A Facebook account that owns or admins the Page(s) you want to archive
- Comma team admin access (for Org-wide install) or membership admin (for personal connect)
- About 5 minutes
Setup steps
Section titled “Setup steps”- Sign in to the Comma Compliance dashboard
- Open Integrations in the top navigation
- Under Personal Integrations, find the Facebook card and click Connect
- You’ll be redirected to Facebook to sign in
- Choose which Pages and resources to authorize
- Review the requested scopes and approve
- Facebook redirects you back to Comma; the connection is confirmed
- Capture begins immediately
Verifying capture
Section titled “Verifying capture”- A test Messenger thread to the connected account appears in Messages > Facebook within a few minutes
- Page inbox conversations show under the connected Page
