Review periods

Esta página aún no está disponible en tu idioma.

A review period is one window of supervisory review, opened on the cadence you set in audit preparedness settings. Each period records who was expected to review, what they did, and whether the work finished on time.

Once audit preparedness is active, a daily check opens a review period for each cadence window. It reminds the expected reviewers:

  • when the period opens
  • at its midpoint
  • the day before it ends
  • then once a day while work is overdue, up to seven times

Daily periods get only the opening reminder and the overdue reminders.

Open Exam readiness > Review periods. Each period shows its status, expected reviewers, review progress, and spot checks. What these columns mean on the page explains each column.

Each row links to:

  • Evidence of review - the Reports page, set to that period
  • Open review items - the review queue, filtered to that period (admins and managers only)

Admins, managers, and auditors can see review periods. Only admins can change them.

A period closes with one of four outcomes:

OutcomeWhat it means
MetEvery expected reviewer took part, and every selected item was done by the end of the window.
LateThe same, but the work was only done by the time the period closed, after the window ended.
MissedWhen the period closed, an item was still not reviewed, or an expected reviewer had not taken part.
ExceptionNo eligible reviewer existed when the period opened.

Once a period closes, its outcome is sealed and cannot be changed. A closed period cannot be reopened.

  1. On an open period, open Manage this open period.
  2. Choose the reviewers.
  3. Press Save reviewers.

You can do this only while the period’s window is running. Once the window ends, the reviewers are fixed, because the outcome is judged against them. The change is recorded in the settings change log.

After a period’s window ends, an admin can close it before the daily check does.

  1. Open Manage this open period.
  2. Enter a reason.
  3. Press Close period.

The same outcome rules apply. The row then shows who closed it, when, and why.

Reviewers do not see Exam readiness. They do the review work.

  • Reminders arrive in Notifications, and by email if your team sends email notices. The email subject is “Supervisory review needs attention”.
  • Open my review work in the email opens the reviewer’s own open items in Notifications.
  • Deciding flags there is what counts toward a period’s outcome. A decision taken back with Undo does not count.
  • Reviewers can read audit preparedness settings but cannot change them.
